If one of your contacts in Xero has changed their business name, email address or something else, you will need to edit their contact details. In this tutorial, we will edit a few details of a contact in Xero’s demo company and check to see if the changes saved.

Contacts Section in Xero

To get to the right place in Xero, go to Contacts → All Contacts from the main menu:

How to Edit a Contact in Xero

Let’s edit the first contact on the list. To do this, tick the checkbox on the right-hand side of the contact’s name and click on the Edit button:

You will now see the Contact Information screen for this contact. Here, you can add, remove or change lots of different information. For this exercise, we will do the following:

  • Contact Name: change it to 123 Collins Bakery.
  • Email: type in john@collinsbakery.co.

Click on the Save button at the bottom of the screen when you are finished making your changes.

If you navigate back to the main Contacts screen you will see that the name of the contact has been changed and their email address has been added:

That’s all you need to do to edit a contact in Xero.
