How to Post a Pay Run

To post a pay run, it needs to be saved as a draft. If you are using Xero’s demo company, there should already be a draft pay run saved. If this is not the case, please add a pay run by following the steps in our guide on how to set up a pay run in Xero payroll and return to this tutorial when finished.

To post a pay run, click anywhere on the row containing the Draft Pay Run information:

On the next screen containing the list of the employees included in the pay run, scroll to the bottom and click on the Post Pay Run button:

A pop-up box will appear asking if you are sure you want to post the pay run. If you are sure, click on Yes:

The pay run will now post. Click on the Cancel button to go back to the main Pay Runs screen. Here you should see that your pay run now appears in the Pay Run History:

That’s all you need to do to post a pay run in Xero payroll.
